Done putting together the Dera'
Ok..that was fun. Straight forward to put together. I add a thermometer to the unit and spent an extra hour making a heat deflector from the downloads section ( a piece of 16ga and a jigsaw). I'll try to get it fired up in the next day or so.
I also discovered that my fire grates from the silver smoker fit perfect in this!! I cant wait to try it out. http://www.MegaShare.com/images/1841 grate view 1 http://www.MegaShare.com/images/1845 grate view 2 http://www.MegaShare.com/images/1842 deflector layout http://www.MegaShare.com/images/1844 deflector installed

Looks great! You might want to raise the charcoal grate another inch or so that you have more room for airflow. Now just fire her up!

I agree with Noah you need more air flow.I don't know if anyone else does this, but i only bend the end of the deflector by the door and let the back fit right up tight to the smoke chamber.

I third the comment on raising the fire grate especially if you will be using charcoal. I made mine out of expanded metal and flat steel and have it sitting on the bottom shelf bracket.
I need to make another baffle, I made mine out of aluminum flashing and it is sagging from use. Mine really looks bad compared to yours.

Jere's a song for this happy occaision
Like A Virgin
Written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly I made it through the wilderness Somehow I made it through Didn't know how lost I was Until I found you I was beat incomplete I'd been had, I was sad and blue But you made me feel Yeah, you made me feel Shiny and new Like a virgin Touched for the very first time Like a virgin When your heart beats Next to mine Gonna give you all my love, boy My fear is fading fast Been saving it all for you 'Cause only love can last You're so fine and you're mine Make me strong, yeah you make me bold Oh your love thawed out Yeah, your love thawed out What was scared and cold Like a virgin Touched for the very first time Like a virgin With your heartbeat Next to mine Oooh, oooh, oooh You're so fine and you're mine I'll be yours 'till the end of time 'Cause you made me feel Yeah, you made me feel I've nothing to hide Like a virgin Touched for the very first time Like a virgin With your heartbeat Next to mine Like a virgin, ooh, ooh Like a virgin Feels so good inside When you hold me, and your heart beats, and you love me Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Ooh, baby Can't you hear my heart beat For the very first time?
