We visited Fredericksburg before christmas. Here are the places that we enjoyed.

Altstadt Brewing - east of the town. Huge place with great beer! We didn't try the food but it looked fantastic!

Fredericksburg Brewing - In town, good beer. We tried their Southwest Eggrolls and they were very good!

But... The highlight was Leroy's Tex Mex, also east of town. It is a hole in the wall with a smallish indoor space with about 10 tables and a bar, but they have a huge outdoor space. We were there on a weeknight so it was quiet, but we talked to some locals and they said that it is a blast on weekends. The food was fantastic!

Fredericksburg also has Opa's Smoked Meats with great sausages, but they are pricey!

If you have time go to the town of Boerne (pronounced Bernie ). It is another nice Hill Country town and they have three places that we enjoyed...

Cibolo Creek Brewing - Excellent beer and a cool indoor and out door space.

Free Roam Brewing - Smaller, but with indoor and outdoor seating and also great beer!

The Dodging Duck - A quirky place with indoor and outdoor seating. Their beer is very good and we tried a 'giant' pretzel appetizer with Hill Country Sausage. It was very good, but not really giant

For BBQ I would go to Eaker. They have traditional Texas BBQ along with some Korean Fusion.
