Deviled Eggs are a wonderful canvas... plenty of fun to be had. I learned about the HDD on 'em from other Brethren. Excellent idea!

I'm pretty sure the butter idea is regional. It's from Eastern North Carolina... isn't everything better with a bit of butter!?

In all seriousness, it does add to the creaminess of the yolk filling. Big fan of Mrs. Scarlett's recipe for several years now. Hope you'll give it a shot!
