I've bumped into several people like this, while it's very tempting to bust their balloon, the grown up in me just tries to let it pass.
If it were me (your question) I would block him on FB and go about your life.

I might find an anonymous way to let him know what he is doing is obvious. Not necessarily a public outing even. If he realizes people know what he is doing it might make him change his ways.

I would never post "Tom's" real name or where the post is located.

I do find Tom's actions unethical and wrong but I never planned on calling him out or acting on what I've see.

"What would you do?"

I was interested in how others would react.

I have a brother in law that is constantly posting about how wonderful he is on facebook, then he posts under his wifes account how wonderful he is in HIS account, he lie's, stretches the facts, and copies others work, basically he's a first class ahole.

That said, I/we leave it alone, it's not worth the aggravation and drama to out him, he's not really hurting anyone, or cheating people, he has low self esteem, in spite of what he posts about himself and a craving for idolatry, and acceptance from everyone he meets, or corresponds to.
It's extremely annoying, but most people have him pegged.


I would leave it be, block his page and move on.

Facebook can be a vile place, I mostly post pics for the family and funny memes. if you ever want to see how bad FB can really be drop on in a roofer interest page and post some work you did

Truthfully... If its not a personal good friend I'd let it pass and just let him get caught up in it, which eventually it'll happen.

If its the other way around, and he is a personal friend, its always a good idea to help people when they need help. and sounds like this guy actually needs help and this is something I feel shouldn't take place over facebook.

I personally don't like when people do things as you described, you can't go to school and become a chef... I believe the title Chef is deserved by long hard work inside the culinary business... You can learn to be a cook, you can learn to be a BBQ guy, but to be a Chef, or BBQ master or anything like that it takes time and dedication to the art. It's a title that you gain as time goes in that specific field. Alot of stuff that makes you a true chef is not taught in a class. its taught by experience. Also using anybody's pictures but your own is theft, no matter which way you want to spin it.

COULD BE that something else is wrong with this guy's life and he needs this kind of attention he can't get elsewhere. Be careful if you do anything on this. It's like trying to pick up the clean end of a turd.
