Default How it all started...

Just for fun I did a search for the first Brethren throwdown...

http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=46670

I thought that it would be interesting for the folks who are new to the throwdowns to see how and when this all started.

We've come a long way in creativity in both the entries and the categories.

One thing that made me chuckle, however, is that the questions and discussion about the category or what is an acceptable entry started immediately and continue today!

And still the most fun you can have outside of the WP. Plus anything you say, no matter how inane, is a Quality Post.

Cool! So who won the first TD? And what happened to Rick's Tropical Delight, did he take his pix and leave the forum? Or should I not ask?

Hard to believe it's been going on that long. Thanks to everyone who has kept it going - I can imagine it takes a commitment.

The person I really miss from that first TD is Jerry, the Barbarian. RIP Jerry.

Don't remind me how I've committed myself ! They have come a LONG way since the beginning and I think Bigabyte really made them a lot of fun. Guerry and I have some seriously big shoes to fill!

I can personally attest that these things can only ultimately lead you to being committed!
