I've got and older Cookshack model 75 smoker. The control board is bad and is unaffordable to replace ($1500!). I would like to adapt a PID to it using the already built in components such as the thermometer and the solid state relay. The relay triggers on DC voltage. I've looked at the Auber and some others, but I really would like to keep it all self contained in the smoker. Any ideas or experience doing this?
