Identify This Wood

My .02 worth says the top two are cherry and the rest is hickory. The grain and color of both look identical to wood in my collection at the moment.

I'm pretty sure the top 2 pieces aren't cherry. I've used it before and this looks different. Cherry is rather curvy and harder to split, and this looks straight. I'm not an expert though and could certainly be wrong.

If the top 2 pcs are cherry they look different that the kind I've seen. I'll take my axe and split a piece open to check.

Now that I can see the pic, I agree with Victory.

You could cut a chunk off and burn it.

Definitely cherry, deep red heart wood and lighter sap wood on the outside. I am also saying hickory as it doesn't look quite stringy enough for oak but, what do I know enjoying a couple of Centennial IPAs
