Out of the corner of my eye I saw a 3+ pound ribeye that was fairly well marbled with a large cap and a small eye priced at $7 a pound. Into the cart it went!

Cooked at ~250 until an IT of 130. Let it rest for a while, removed the bone, sliced and seared on my cast iron griddle.

Have mercy!! That looked great as you bought it (I wouldn't pass it up either), but looks even more enticing on the plate. Very nice!
 
Awesome! That was cut from the "front end" of the rib loin ... closer to #6 than it was #12. If I had to guess, you had a #6 bone on there. The closer to the chuck you get, the larger the deckle & the smaller the eye gets. That would be my choice every time.
