Default walmart uniflame 22" for lid on UDS

just wondering if the uniflame 22" kettle grill from walmart has a lid that will fit on the UDS. i have purchased one weber grate so i would have one cheapo and a dome lid for $29.

is it going to fit and be worth it??

Drums run different size diameters.
If it don't fit, make necessary adjustments.

Wyatt has one on his drum. The lid didn't fit directly, so Wyatt did a bit of metalwork. He cut the domed lid to fit inside the lip of his drum lid. A few stainless self-drilling screws, and a grinder wheel to cut out the center of the drum lid, he was set. I'll see if he can post pics.

What does your drum measure. Take a tape measure and place on the outside right at the barrels seem. Streach it across the drum and slowly move it back and about and inch or two looking for the biggest reading. Mine measures 22 1/2 to 22 5/8. I just got a older weber lid and it fits just fine not metal work involved.
