Headed to Galveston. Would like to stop along the way for some Texas bbq. Anything between Houston and Galveston worth trying? I prefer beef! Thanks!

I've spent time in that part of the world. Without a specific recommendation from a recent visit, and if they talk about or have photos of their smoker on their web site, odds are pretty good the food would be good too. Especially, if you go at a conventional time and day of week.

In that area, I'd hit the Buccee's on I-45 for a brisket sandwich. Don't forget to grab a couple bags of diabetes, AKA Beaver Nuggets.

You’ll find nothing in between those two cities besides Buc-ees in Texas City. Unless you venture off to the burbs.

Buc-ees are a must see, at least once!
We've stopped at 3 or 4 in our travels in the last year.
Lessee, so far I've bought gas, a breakfast burrito, a pair of flip flops, beaver nuggets, candied pecans, beef jerky, a car wash, and a bird house, just off the top of my head.

Leaving the S.E. Bash in the morning, heading south to the land (sea) of the Oysters, Apalachicola area of FLA.
Gonna try to eat my weight in those things!

Try Kat's BBQ in Sante FE.

Or when you actually get to Galveston, go to Koop's BBQ Kitchen and Catering. Best BBQ on the Island.

Be very afraid, the Bigdog is back too. I really like the new look. I was having trouble logging in on the old site. It kept kicking me out. Bad Dog! lol

Back on Topic: Listen to Bigmista's advice. He lives down there and knows good BBQ.
