BluDawg has listed a great rub above, I would try that.

If you are looking for a commercially made rub, I would suggest the sampler pack from OakRidge BBQ Rubs. It is $4.95 including postage, you can't beat that deal.

I've been using these lately. Can't exactly remember where I found them.
Bad Ass BBQ Rub

  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c sugar in the raw
  • 1/2 c kosher salt ( start with 1/4 c and add if necessary)
  • 2 T celery salt
  • 2 T seasoned salt (low sodium)
  • 1/3 c Hungarian paprika (must be Hungarian)
  • 2 T Ancho chili powder
  • 4 t black pepper
  • 2 T cayenne ( night want to start with 1/2-1T depending on heat level)
  • 1 t granulated garlic
  • 1 t granulated onion
Finishing Rub. I grind everything in a spice grinder to get a fine texture.
  • 1/4 c smoked paprika (I subbed Hungarian paprika)
  • 1/4 c sweet paprika
  • 1/4 c sugar in the raw
  • 1/4 c kosher salt, ground
  • 2 T mustard powder
  • 1 T ancho chili powder
  • 1 T cumin
  • 1 t black pepper
  • 2 T granulated garlic
  • 1 t cayenne
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 4 t cinnamon
