Greetings to a new user from the frozen tundra of the upper Midwest USA!

I am new to the BBQ scene since being the lucky recipient of a new Pit Barrel Cooker(PBC) for Christmas 2017. In the last few weeks, the weather has warmed up enough to do a few cooks of whole chicken, pork ribs, beef ribs and a ham. So far the beef ribs have been everyone's favorite, the chicken was good but we had some differing thoughts about the seasoning and injection used, and the ham was really nothing special.

Doing just a few cooks made me realize that I have a lot to learn about using the PBC and BBQ methods. Already ordered a BBQ Guru DigiQ kit to better control the temp in the PBC. I probably will need a few more toys to improve my cooks :-D

At some point this year, I'd like to try a brisket and prime rib roast. I think I still have a lot to learn before trying a brisket and a high-quality(and expensive) cut like prime rib.

Looking forward to all the knowledge contained in this web site, and thank you for everyone who has already contributed.

Congratulations on the new cooker. Welcome to the forum!
