American Beech For Smoking?
Howdy fellow Q'ers,
I've been offered a small American Beech tree for free. I just need to buzz-saw it into smokin' size chuncks. Has anyone ever used Beech to smoke meat? If so, was it good, bad or ?? Thanks for first hand experiences Ladies and Gents.

Thanks for the info Gents.
The heavy rain didn't allow me to get much of the tree, maybe a third of it and the rest I'll get tomorrow. However, the minute I dropped my chain into it, I knew I had some work to do. That stuff is as hard as 'Nails' and not to be taken lightly. Also, I noted that the sap wood is lite in color and the hart wood is very dark, similar to White oak and smelled like it too. Looks like I'am into a new 'Hard Wood Experience'.
