Default Blackstone auestion

The top of my Blackstone 36” griddle is in perfect shape.
But the underside is rusting. Do you have the same issue?
If so what if anything do you do about it?

Of course it can be sanded down. But are you doing anything to prevent it from happening again?

Or do you just leave it be?

Thanks for the ideas.

I don't have one, but I would think it's a natural reaction to seeing the direct flame. I would try sanding it down and rubbing some bacon grease on it and try and season it a bit on a lower heat setting, maybe multiple times, kind of like cast iron.

.......sorry, but gotta.......

I’ve not looked and honestly if it is I’m not concerned. I paid like 139$ For 2 Burner with Blackstone Cover and free shipping. I figured it was a 5 year Griddle. Guessing Im in year 3. If it quits Ill just donate to the dumpster and get another. Probably the table top size.

Guess my answer to your question is, I’m doing nothing, I leave it be.

I oil the bottom annually and over the years it forms a patina underside.
