My Weber Grates Are Rusting

You guys worry to much. Just scrub them and oil them and cook on. Heck i use an old rusted grate in my uds from the late 60's that is all pitted. Havent killed anyone yet. Pulled a 12th place chicken at the Ironman this past weekend on that uds.

Well, at least you are consistent with your User ID

Living sea side, I replace stuff all the time. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to rebuild the inners of my gas grills over the years. Usually get 2-3 years before I have to replace burners and other various parts. Does not matte if I cover them or not. I keep my new smokers in the garage now. Hoping to keep them out of the elements and rust free!

I use my Weber all the time. But six months ago I bought some GrillGrates for searing, and have mostly grilled on those since. I wonder if this is preventing my Weber grates from staying seasoned and that's why the rust has all of a sudden flared up like never before.
