Sticky ball valves....

The ball valves on my cabinet smoker have gotten pretty tight lately and I was wondering if the group might have an idea of what tolube them with? Obviously don’t want to do WD40 but I’m Leary of doing it with veg oil either. Any oil that anyone can think of that wouldn’t gum up over to,e?

Rinse the valve with hot water, then use Food grade silicone spray.

There should be a packing gland nut under handle.... back it off a little

^^^^^^. I use these valves in my job every day and what Paul said is the first thing I would try. After that some mineral oil to lube the ball.

It’s what’s used on espresso machine valves and beer tapping equipment. I own both and use it on both with great success.
