WSM 18 1/2 Grommet Mod

I know this has been discussed here but I can't find it. I would like to know if the 3/8 Grommet set sold by Cajun Bandit will work on 18 1/2 WSM? Where is it installed? I'll be getting the Maverick ET-732 (hopefully today) as a gift to myself for xmas. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

They will work no problem. Install just underneath the level of your top rack about 2" apart. Put some duct tape on the wsm before drilling or you'll chip the powder coating.

The standard threaded lamp rod will do the same thing for about $5. Go to the Virtualweberbullet site for modification info. Simple to do and works well.

I didn't want to drill my WSM to get my ET-732 to fit so I ended up using a roll pin and a set collar. The probe still can't fit through the pin, but the braided wire does. It takes a little bit more for the final assembly but again I didn't want to drill. Pictures are attached.

The 3/8" grommet from Cajun Bandit is what I have on my UDS and the Maverick probes fit just fine.
