I want to cook a 40lb pig for super bowl. I called the butcher and he told me a customer had ordered two 35lb pigs and never picked them up.

The butcher told me that he would sell them to me for 1.99lb but i had to take both of them. I thought i had room in the freezer but as it turned out i don't so i put them in an ice chest packed with ice.

Now, can i leave them in there until super bowl? I noticed they are thawing out very little and it does not look like they will stay frozen until super bowl. I was planning on doing a test pig may be this weekend since i have 2 of them.
Any advise on this. Thank you

The 1st one will be ok, no chance I'd keep it thawed until the Chiefs and the Cards
go at it on Feb 7. Ask the butcher to keep it in his freezer until say Wednesday before the big game.
And pics, pics are a must!

Yup i would have had him hold them for you in his freezer until closer to the game

I ended up buying a freezer.
Good move, will save you $$.
Now get a vacuum sealer if you don't have one.
Saves $$.
Congratulations, now pictures of the cook!!!
