The 2021 Texas BBQ Brethren Fall Bash Planning Thread

Good one, Bill! :clap:


I like the 30th because the weather might possibly be a bit crisper but not cold. Besides, no home games to speak of.
 
Our calendar is updated:
SoCal October 7-14.
Joe Bonamassa Concert on October 17th.
? Texas BBQ Brethren 2021 Fall Bash October 23rd (Hopefully!!) ?
N Texas EggFest November 13th.
Fall is getting busy for us! :mrgreen:
 
I keep leaving messages for Mr Joshua Brown at Corp of engineers but he never calls me back. This change of leadership isn't looking good for us. Maybe I should rent a spot at the rv park and have it there? It's only 2 minutes down the road.

According to Recreation.gov even to RV Park is closed for the season!
I know Richard had a site over there in 2018.
Looks like any park run by the Corp closes for the season after September.
I say we just show up on 10/23/2021. :mrgreen:

There is an empty space between the restaurant and the Corp property...

That's pretty standard. We normally have to call and email for out of season access. It's just not working. Usually I just remind the volunteers that we do this every year, we sign a document and we're in. We really only need the parking lot and bathrooms. :heh:

I just skimmed through this and it’s late. Is the date secured as 23 Oct? Where will it be?

I can drive now, so if I’m free…watch out :)

I need to start looking for someone to fill the pulpit very soon, so please let me know when plans are solidified.
 
I was finally able to speak to the new guy in charge. He's working on making the pavilion rentable all year round. That is what the delay has been. New processes in place trying to get in line with national protocol. I sent him another email so we should be first in line for 10-23-2021.

I have a new Brethren, and new Shirley owner, who wants to camp with his 5th wheel also at the Bash. Any chance the RV Park will be opened back up also? :mrgreen:

Kelly and Bruce are buying a new house and may be in the middle of moving!!
Aaron, aka bbqtutor, wants to come and hopefully bring his new to him Shirley.
And possibly his 5th wheel RV.
