Happy Sunday everyone,
Yesterday I bought a nice butt to smoke today and while I was in the store, I saw that they had sweet potatoes on sale so I bought a kilo ( 2 pounds. Now the problem is that I never cooked with sweet potatoes before and need an idea what to do with them.
I hope you guys can help me with a good recipe.

Thanks Daniel

Smoke them just a little longer after the skins start to leak a little fluid. Some of the potato will be starting to caramelize by this point, and they will be very soft.

Turn em over if you like at this point for better consistency.

about 6 to 8 hours to the point of caramelization, depending on size...

Pecan Lodge in Dallas serves a sweet potato concoction called 'Hot Mess'. A baked sweet potato with a dusting of what appears to be chili powder, smothered in barbicoa meat, and served with sour cream.

Thanks for the quick answers, I guess I'll go with garrets idea this time because 1,5 -2 hours fit perfectly in my Sunday plan :-D

I'll post the whole cook later today.
