What are you paying per rick or 1/2 rick for wood.
Oak
Pecan
Apple
Hickory
I’m new to smoking with wood and wonder what a fair price is for others.
Seen it around here for any of the above for $100 per rick.

We got acres for woods to cut on our property but 60% of its poplar and the oaks are to big for me to take alone. Have yet to see a hickory.
Would be just as easy to buy it cut and split .
Your thoughts??

Around the DFW area I have seen it anywhere $125 to $300 for a 1/2 cord. I get my Oak at a local place and pay $160.

A rick is supposed to be 1/3 of a cord. $300 a cord is pretty darn expensive, especially in a place like Tennessee that is covered in hardwoods. I'm in WV, and I've seen it here for $120 - $150 a cord. I'd keep shopping if I were you.
