A few weeks ago, I lost part of a Bradford pear tree, so I had to cut it up. I've been using it in my fire pit when settin' around drinkin beer an what-not.

Got to wondering if it would be any good to chunk-up and smoke with. Anybody ever use it?

I asked this question before and everyone said why not. I had pear and crabapple given to me. I'm letting it dry out some before I use it.

I use it all the time. To me its just like apple or any other pear wood. Also this is the best time of year to get it because it should have just finished bearing fruit.

Cool. It's actually been stacked in the garage drying for a couple months now. I'm gonna do a pork tenderloin on Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll give it a whirl...
