I had an automotive paint store trying to sell me some LIC40 polyurethane Enamel to paint my grill with. He claims that he has sold plenty of this to other people for grills with no complaints. Any suggestions or ideas?

I've never heard of it.

My pit came with cheap paint and the fire box has been in need of repainting ever since the first time I used it. I have been just oiling it to prevent excess rust. I did buy some Rust Oleum High Heat 1200 degree paint that I may use to so that it will look better..

No experience here, but I'd ask for the MSDS before spraying it.

Are you looking for color??

If not just get the Krylon or Rustoleum 1500 degree spray paint in black. Way cheaper and prolly more durable under heat. Looking at the product sheet that just looks like durable automotive paint.

Stay away from the LIC40 polyurethane Enamel. It is not high temperature rated that I can see and it is too high priced.
