Wireless Probes

I'm interested to hear opinions on this. Do you see a price on them?

Looks like Meater has some competition! :becky:

From the quick check I did, it doesn't appear that they've launched the fire yet but they've been at it since 2011.

In June of last year, they posted this on FB: [ame="https://www.facebook.com/WyzeTemp/posts/960735580706310"]https://www.facebook.com/WyzeTemp/posts/960735580706310[/ame]

Here's the story: http://www.matrixpd.com/introducing-wyze-temp-fire/

Here's a video from 2011

Meater is a cheater!!

Fire is a liar!!

I questioned meater 2 times, and many IDs thought I was jealous.
Read Kickstarter comments, I am more than certain that meater is a cheapter.
The positive reviews simply say it is good in words. I do not find picture/video that meater is in working condition. The negative reviews say effective distance is 2,5,10 feet. If 5 feet you do not need wireless

I met one of the creators of the Wyztemp last year at the IAMBBQ conference. He was a good guy and pretty damned smart. I liked the idea of that unit : you replace the dial thermometer in your smoker with their receiver / display unit, and then the Bluetooth signal only has to travel from the probe to that unit. From there you get wireless... I'm hoping they are able to bring it to the commercial market in the not too distant future.
