Help- Mold covered grill!

I think I'd get as much as I could out first, then burn it, then clean it again. Had that happen to my PK once, but it's easy to pressure wash.

I think you should send the RecTech to me for some R&R.
I can fix it up great, and you won't have to worry about it any more....

I do a dry out on my Masterbuilt smoker after use, and a heat up before use.
That sterilizes it on both ends.
Then it is clean and dry under the cover.

Ventilation is key to avoid mold.

Definitely scrape it out and burn the rest out. It's steel, it'll be okay.

Congrats on the new grill though. Don't get rid of it if it gets a little dirty, though

I'm going to rehab it, get it back to excellent condition. Probably strip it down after a burn so I can pressure wash it without hurting the electronic stuff.

I tried to do a burn yesterday, it got up to 350 then a fan started squealing and the temp dropped. Auger fan I think. I'll replace it.

Still nice to get a new toy though!

Just FYI the same thing will happen to your new cooker if you don't prop it open or at least have a way to get air flow into the chamber. This used to happen with my WSM but keeping the door off if I don't use it for a while helps avoid mold growing in it. Congrats on the new smoker BTW.
