Saw this for $9.99 at Home Depot. I had it in my cart but wimped out on the impulse purchase.

I agree, if you have a good knife, your knuckle is the guide.

But hey, tools are fun to use, if it takes up too much room, or doesn't work well, just pass it on.

I have one and wouldn’t be without it, makes the task easier. What the others said do a fine job too.

Fortunately, neither my wife nor I have a "culinary tool addiction." Probably have to have a 1,000sq.ft. kitchen if we did!

Besides, all the really great cooks I've ever known seem to like an old school way of doing things, not only in utensils but also the simplicity of their food. The flavor isn't simple, though. They know how to shape the flavor of their food because of their own great palates and familiarity with herbs and spices. :icon_smile_tongue:

Got 1 got to watch how you do it or you will cut the ends off and have more the 1 tater, picking the rite knife too helps, back on meds for sugar so no more taters for a long time :(

I bought the same one a few months back. My knife skills suck was the reason I bought it. It works is all I can add to the conversation.

Also, don't forget that an apple corer through the center of the potato makes a great way to stuff and flavor the potato with a lot less effort. Just cut the ends from the removed center of the potato to make a plug for each end.

Stuff them with cheese, sausage, vegetables, you are limited only by your imagination.

They can also be wrapped in bacon of you desire.

These are called "Potato Bombs"
