I need to prepare some pulled pork for a family get-together this weekend, any suggestions on some killer butt rub?
Thanks, Mike

I am using Bad Byron's Butt Rub today on the, you guessed it, pork butt. Also used it on one rack of ribs. On the other rack I used my butcher's bourbon maple rub.

I personally prefer Oakridge Secret Weapon BBQ Rub....

It may be too late to order a rub in for the weekend, so Here are some good but simple rubs the Brethren have posted in the past....

I have tried PatioDaddio's and PItmaster"T"'s rubs and both were well received.

That's a great list, Bratylten! I'd also throw in Meathead's Memphis Dust from amazingribs.com.

Those are great but the KISS - SPOG is still my favorite.
Sauce of your choice on the side for any who feel the need but most won't do it.
Any diabetics in the family will thank you for it.

I have switched almost exclusively to Lambert's Sweet Rub O Mine for pork. If I need a little more kick, I sprinkle on a little cayenne or Cajun seasoning. I pick it up at Lowe's.

Here's my Jiggly Piggly pork butt rub. I don't take any original credit but borrowed from several recipes.
Rub 3-4 butts 3/4 cup white sugar 3/4 cup dark brown sugar 1 cup Morton's kosher salt 1/2 cup Hungarian sweet paprika 2/3 cup less 1 TBS black pepper 2 TBS granulated garlic 2 TBS MSG optional 1 TBS celery seed optional 1 TBS cumin 1 TBS white pepper 2 tsp sage optional 1/2 tsp cayenne +/-
