First cook on the egg
Howdy...
I just cooked for the first time on one of my new eggs. Love it ! Made a small fire, added some hickory and let it burn for a couple of hours to get to know the temperature control. Found it to be very easy. Then i opened the vents a bit more, added some argentinian chorizo sausages and closed the lid again. When the sausages were almost done i opened the bottom vent all the way to crisp em up a bit and grilled some ciabatta with chipotle butter as a side. Mighty good eats ! http://mybbq.net/forum/userpix/57_a_005_Small_15.jpg http://mybbq.net/forum/userpix/57_a_006_Small_14.jpg http://mybbq.net/forum/userpix/57_a_007_Small_15.jpg http://mybbq.net/forum/userpix/57_a_008_Small_11.jpg http://mybbq.net/forum/userpix/57_a_009_Small_14.jpg Cant wait for my first indirect cook. I got two small catering events to do this weekend but might be able to do cook some pulle dpork for myself on sunday. Cheers ! DM |
That looks pretty good. You did the smart thing and played with the temp to get control of it. I think a lot of newbies to the egg just want to throw it on and do a 600 degree sear on a steak and don't take the time starting off to learn the cooker.

It will just keep gettin' better and better.

That looks great. Digging the little garnis you threw on there too. Looks like you are off to a great start.
|
Off to a good start! Is that EGG on a second floor balcony, if so I'll bet that was fun getting it up there.

Looks good. I remember when my large egg was that clean.
