Honey Sriracha Wings
What to eat on the first NFL Sunday of the season? Wings, of course.
Been in the fridge uncovered since Friday night to dry the skin out. Rubbed with Mad Hunky Hot Whang and then on the small egg indirect around 275* to start. Rockwood lump with pecan chips for smoke. http://cd8ba0b44a15c10065fd-24461f39...elafdhn0ww.jpg Temps climbed to 400* over the course of the next hour and a bit until I checked them. They were pretty much done. http://cd8ba0b44a15c10065fd-24461f39...dxm2uq11ct.jpg Mixed up a sauce with equal parts Sriracha, honey, and butter. Tasted it and then added a decent unmeasured amount of more Sriracha and brought to a simmer. Dunked the wings in the sauce and back on the egg. http://cd8ba0b44a15c10065fd-24461f39...6wrk2uw9t8.jpg http://cd8ba0b44a15c10065fd-24461f39...wb3gymblvu.jpg Let the sauce set up for 5-10 minutes and they were done. http://cd8ba0b44a15c10065fd-24461f39...e1shd10b99.jpg http://cd8ba0b44a15c10065fd-24461f39...6zp15ciz1t.jpg Pretty good wings, skin was still pretty crispy, even with the sauce. |
Descriptions sound great, but I don't get pics...
EDIT: Life-sized wings! YES! Wow... bloody pterodactyl-sized wings! Looks delicious! |

Updated post with alternate photo hosting site. Does it work now? |
Yep, great looking wings! Gotta try that honey Sriracha sauce sometime.

The wings look fantastic with one of my favorite glazes.
|
Beautiful... Just beautiful.
|
They look great. I'm going to have to try that sauce. Thanks!

Man that looks good. I made some sriracha/honey/mustard marinaded wings yesterday. Some of the best tasting wings I've done. I think your glaze will take it over the top.
If you get the chance try out this marinade. 3 Tbs Sriracha 3 Tbs Dijon mustard 1-2 Tbs Honey 1 Tbs olive oil .5-1 tea Cumin .5-1 tea salt and pepper Marinade for at least 4 hours. Grill indirect at high heat. Takes about 1 hour on my kettle. |
Looks really good. The flavor combo sounds very appealing. Will give it a try.
