Academy dropping Old Country?
 

I stopped by Academy today, hoping I might luck out and catch an OC smokehouse, despite their webpage indicating 0 in stock. What I found was a single OC horizontal, and large product/price sign with most OC models marked down to clearance prices. When asked whether OC was being dropped, the guy on the floor nodded. On the other hand, this nod was all the response I got to my other questions too, so I'm not sure I believe him.

Is this true? As far as I know, Academy is the only national dealer of OC. I've caught the stickburning fever with my bandera, and while I like her, I don't think she's "the one", and the smokehouse seems like the logical upgrade.

the nearest academy is about 150 miles away... just how deeply discounted were these smokers?

Last we heard they were finalizing a deal to start selling an OC gravity feed. Smitty was supposed to get the smaller size gf to test out but I don't think that ever happened.

Not significantly - over/under was $399 from usual $499, but none were in stock. I don't remember the others. Smokehouse was not discounted.

I may have to take a drive just to check... I love academy probably a good thing its so far or my bank account would suffer more damage

Last I Heard he had reached a Deal on the GF and first shipment would be heading to Academy in Near Future.......
