Leaks in the intakes or the lid will cause terrible temp control issues! |
Anyone ever installed a rotisserie on a UDS ? I saw a brand new one in the box the other day at goodwill for $5 .
Thought if it is there tomorrow I might offer them $3.50 and see what they say. Raz |

Or use the weber extension for the rotisserie.

OK, here are a few pics of mine.
http://www.dresselbrew.com/images/BBQ/UDS_1st_burn.JPG After the first burn. Did second burn and a lot of time with the wire wheel. http://www.dresselbrew.com/images/BB...e_1st_burn.JPG Now here's the basket. bought a piece of expanded steel 12"x24" and cut it in half then tried to weld them together in a circle. The welds stuck but it sure is ugly. Used wire to tie the ring to the basket. http://www.dresselbrew.com/images/BBQ/basket02.JPG The morning after the first cook. Will probably paint it some time in the future. Isn't she ugly? Love at first sight. http://www.dresselbrew.com/images/BBQ/UDS.JPG First cook. http://www.dresselbrew.com/images/BB...r_12_12_08.JPG |
I think those extra two holes in the lid are going to give you problems.

Why do you think the extra holes in the lid will be a problem? |

If your temps wont rise then you are going to need more intake. I use two 3/4" intakes and just the 2" exhaust. I run with one wide open and adjust with the other. Wide open.. http://i33.tinypic.com/2hwh9y1.jpg Adjust temp.. http://i38.tinypic.com/10gw4ro.jpg Exhaust.. http://i37.tinypic.com/21edjcy.jpg |
Your temp problems stem from too much exhaust and not enough intake.
