How much room does it free up? 3-4"?

Looks really nice.

The middle part is 3" deeper.

This is what they should of had from the beginning. Glad to see them make the change. Burning mine in now to see the difference but I’m pretty sure it will work better than the original one

About 4 hours in and I think I like it. Seems to have a lot of air flow and having the coals built up in the bottom (vs falling through the expanded metal on the old firebox) allows a single split to burn better. Seems like I’m adding a split about every 40 minutes be every 30 earlier. Throwing some duroc spares on since the fire is going:). Overall, this is a good upgrade to the M1 imo and a good move for this firebox to be included in all new M1’s and M36’s

Looks good. I've not fired mine up yet. What size splits do you use in your M1?

About beer can size. Any bigger and I can’t keep temps down without choking the fire way back.

These were cut in half as they were longer than normal. My normal Splits are about 15” long.

Thanks for the info. I recently bought that Kindling cracker to make my wood smaller.

I like your M Grills table. I've thought about buying one of those at some point.

Sure thing! The tables are pricey, but they are outstanding quality. They look good too! I almost wish I would of bought two of them when I did as shipping just one table wouldn’t be cost effective at all.
