If anything went right...

If anything went right...
I wouldn't put this here. :tsk:

Had a few frosty pops last night with the neighbors. No issue, right?

Wrong. Planned on putting 2 8lb butts on at 3am or so.

Wake up at 5:45. Fark.

Check the butts. 33. Fark.

So now we're starting late and cold. Fark.

Gettin our rub on the butts.
One with what I had left of Money.

The other with Jallelujah Bacon Jalapeno.

Start the chimney with no issue. Elbow high Leather gloves and flip flops. Priceless. :thumb:

Coals looking good in the chimney, and here we go...

Luckily I've had an extra set of probes in the drawer for an occasion just like this.

Crisis averted, and we're off! :thumb:
Grabbin the rubbed butts from the kitchen and loading the drum.
Should be easy, right? :tsk:
(Remember we're a tad wobbly from last night)

Man Down!
I'll save the graphic pics of washing mulch off my butt.

Both butts on the drum now. Shouldn't be an issue, but boy, what a morning.

On top of that, Imageshack now wants me to pay, which we also dealt with to post my epic-fail morning.

Classic! Nowhere to go from here but up!

sliding_billy 04-26-2014 08:07 AM

Way to muscle through. We've all had cooks like that.

IamMadMan 04-26-2014 08:07 AM

You're off to a great start..... The key is how you handle the unplanned crisis.... LOL

Keep Calm and Carry On!

JbTech 04-26-2014 08:25 AM

After our chaotic start, things seem to be going according to plan.

So far...:tape:

Thanks for letting me share my temporary tragedies this morning! :clap2:
Sometimes it just helps to type to people!
(See what I did there?)

Wife asked me this morning what time the neighbors are coming over for pulled poke...
O Fark.
What have I done.

We've all had cooks like that. It'll be a funny story to tell at dinner to the neighbors, maybe minus a few details.

Ron_L 04-26-2014 09:00 AM

It should be easy from here on out! :thumb:

Thanks for the chuckle!

Keep calm and bring beer, I alway say. Hopefully the worst is behind you.
