What the hell is this?

Cutting into my leg of lamb and this greenish looking paste comes oozing out of it? Any idea what it is?

Does it smell hideous?

It’s trash. So is the meat. Blegh

It's a reason to take the whole thing back to the store for an exchange.

robert-r 04-29-2018 11:26 AM

That's enough to gag a maggot.

MisterChrister 04-29-2018 11:27 AM

Infection pus?

Smoke Dawg 04-29-2018 11:29 AM

Return it and ask

That’s pretty nasty. Let us know what you find out.

My guess.A male. A male in love. Used to see something similar when butchering venison.

May or not be it. Right location though. We always tried to avoid glands.

Makes me glad I chose to bone out the one I'm cooking today. Otherwise, I'd be wondering all through the cook...

LloydQ 04-29-2018 11:49 AM

Damn, that's nasty!

It didn’t smell but I didn’t try to smell it. I called Costco and they said I didn’t need to bring it back, pictures would be fine. From what I can tell, it’s some type of cyst. That being said, I don’t know if I can ever eat guacamole again.
