So I think I might actually be a Brethren due to the fact that I had a new BWS Party Delivered today and started lighting the Chimney to season it before I even got I got it out of the crate. Didnt want to waste time or anything.

Great thing is my wife is as excited as me! Pics to come!

Oh man, I am in the queue for an extended Party. Please post pics, and what you did to season it. I know that Old Dave over on the BWS site has it covered, but looking to bring that more local to the Brethren.

That is so cool! I think the best part is how you described lighting the coals. It made me feel the excitement too. Looking forward to lots of great food stories/pics from the new cooker!:thumb:

Congrats! A new smoker for me is like Christmas when I was a kid. Sounds the same for you. Please post some pics!

I am jealous bro about that fantastice smoker. Cool that your bride is just as excited. Your passion is what makes you a brethren and it certainly sounds like you have that. Congrats!!!

Got up this morning and took a look at her, the Party looks so nice, clean and innocent without a care in the world. Poor thing has no idea what's instore for it.

In a very short 24 hours it will be well on it's way to the Lakeland Pigfest and will never be the same again..

Here's the existing arsenal minus the party but now with the party we will have a cooker for every kid we have. That's only fair I would say! It's gonna be a lil crowded for the party, it will just have to learn to share like everyone else in the family. :)

oooh. i guess i should have payed closer attention to where you live before asking for pictures. Now I'm just depressed... another foot of snow last night. <sigh>

Would like to see a side-by-side with the the party and the fatboy. If you get the chance...

No problem, sir.

I will say it was quite easy to get the party up to 350 last night and did it in no time at all, I thought. Seems like working the grate is a bit more tricky than the Fat boy though and the grate capacity is quite a bit less in the party. Seems like it would really be a winner for chicken and ribs though.

Wow, 2 of em.

My missus has a real respect for my BWS. We got pelted with like 8 in of snow last night, and she was johhny on the spot the night before making sure our son helped me lift it into the garage so it would be protected.

Wally,
Glad I could help you on the Party!! Smooth transaction and I hope you enjoy it! For all of the Brethren out there that are void of a Party, and even those with a Party, I am going to raffle a Party here in a few weeks (stainless doors, commercial fire grate, tie down hooks and cover), only 250 tickets, $ 20 each with 100% of the net proceeds to an a local charity that runs a boot camp/hell week for at risk males ages 13-16. The raffle WILL include freight to the lucky winner in the conti-48.....best of all, I'm going sell exclusively to the Brethren for the first 2-3 weeks...with a little support, hopefully the tickets will go to all Brethren thus the winner will be a Brethren. The cooker is in stock and ready to rock. Details and the post will go up next week as soon as the tickets are printed and in my hand!!!!!

Thank Andy!

Gotta give Andy some credit here too! He actually sent an email yesterday asking if it got delivered and if everything as okay with it. Nowadays after you pay someone you usually never hear from them again, it was a very nice surprise. Thanks again, Andy!

It is a rib cooking machine. I usually do 6 racks of St Louis & 6 baby backs and they all come out tasting great. Good luck at the contest.

Yeah, I saw that technique in the last episodes of the tv series "Survivor."

They stacked the wood around their cooker, turned away shortly, and before they knew it their shelter was on fire.

Think I'll stick with insulated cookers.

Bro,

If you can own 2 BWS's, you ought to be able to hit without the ball being on a tee, eh? ;)

Okay, sorry about the wait as I said earlier went to lakeland we did okay but in better news my eldest son came back from being down 1-6 to win his second consecutive state wrestling title! That was better than me doing anything in a comp for sure! :)

Anyway, here are the pics!

You sir are correct. I always say "no matter how bad my day is I always have a half a dozen people tell me they love me". That's one of the many great things about having a big family.

My neighbor just got his fatboy. These BWS smokers are a thing of beauty!

Do yourself a favor.

Go to the store and buy a bag of charcoal, some wood chips and/or some meat. Knock on his door and say something like this: "Nice smoker. We didn't know you were expecting :-P. Thought I'd bring you a little gift for the new baby. Tell him about the Jambo and let it roll. :-P"

Then, every few months or so leave a bag of coals or chips on his doorstep. You'll no doubt be on his short list of folks he invites over when he cranks it up.

Also...make sure he knows this forum exists and invite him to join.
