Anyone make or bake anything to send to friends or relatives as gifts? Prefer 2 day shipping but can handle ovenight if stuff doesn't weigh too much. No one wants stuff this year; just food...
thanks

Fatties, smoked salmon, cheese, small bag of pulled pork, some bread. All kinds of options. Most local grocers sell dry ice. Shipping is where it gets you.

For the last few years I have smoked cheese and made sauces and wife made them into gift baskets. Now everyone wants them only.

My dad, for years, used to make his "famous" spaghetti sauce and sent it to friends and family. Every couple of years he included a cookbook of his recipes he made up on the computer at home. It was always a very cool gift to receive.

Infused vinegars, oils. Candied grapefruit or orange peels...
I have said for years I was gonna start making soaps. Said it again this year...:icon_blush: Although its not food, I think its a really great idea.

We did peanut brittle and chocolate truffles.
Next year I hope to be able to do smoked cheese and sausages.

We do salsas and sauces. I pickle jalapenos and can them (big fav). Also we make fudge, cookies, and shortbread. As said already, it's the shipping that gets you.

I smoke cheese and make some summer sausage. Also make different quick breads that are easy and tastey. Usually have some stuff we put up from our garden but had a poor year this year and did not get much canned. My family seems like they really enjoy and appreciate such gifts.

+1 on the summer sausage and smoked cheese. My brothers make more money than #$@^ so buying them something is pointless. A surgeon and a Network Architect.

Every family has to have a beatnik, guess you know who that is.

Edited to add that the wife makes marshmallows and confections. They be good.
