Got my new Large Big Green Egg put together today. I've already grilled burgers for lunch and had hot dogs for supper this evening. Can't wait to start getting some eggcessories for it.
If I were to get a fan for it, does anyone have a suggestion for one?

I don't have a BGE myself, but from all the threads here I've read in the past it doesn't sound like you'd need a fan.
Pick up some ribs or a shoulder and get that egg smoking.

IMHO it is way too clean to be pretty. Get it smokin and dirty and post some food pron soon!

Nice toy, looks like your first. Let us know how you like it. Do not forget to do several low temp cooks 250º-350º to set the gasket!!! Nice rifle too.

Very nice, You will enjoy that. I have an Auber controller with a Guru fan or you can just get Guru like a lot of folks here have. Either way once you get her figured out, low and slow here we come!

Very nice egg. If you get a Temp regulating device like a Guru they will suggest the type of fan, otherwise I do not believe that you will need one

I've had a large BGE for 15 years or so and purchased the BBQ Guru DigiQ II with Viper 10 CFM blower about two years ago.

http://www.thebbqguru.com/

I really like the product for its ability to run the BGE totally unattended for hours and hours.

I fire up the BGE around 5 AM, throw on an 8 lb butt, dial in the DigiQ, head up to North Georgia for a quick hike along my favorite stretch of the Appalachian trail, stop for Pizza and beer on the way home, pull the butt off around 5PM....perfect every time. As long as there is fuel in the firebox it will hold the temp steady. It is especially handy when the weather gets cold as it will eliminate temperature fluctuations.

There are several new models available since I got mine, one very basic and one a little fancier. There are also similar products from other sources but I am partial to BBQ Guru -- great product, great service, great reputation, and support.

Congrats Dennis! Now let's see it in action... the egg not the AR-15!

If you light the egg in 2 or 3 spots you don't need to worry about a temp device. I light mine in a triangle and it will hold rock steady all night long. My two BBQ Guru's are lonely.

Thanks for all your help. I've already cooked 3 times on it since I put it together yesterday. Burgers, hotdogs and a Pizza tonight. I will post photos of my pizza on a seperate thread. As far as the AR-15 goes, I just had to hang the dang thing there. It works great for lighting the egg since it's petty long. lol.
