My vertical smoker is 2X2 and 3' tall what size stack do I need and what do you use for the stack?
Do you just use stove pipe?

Thanks..

PS, I learned a valuable lesson today, make sure things are where you want before you weld, taking apart is NO FUN...... glad to be back where I started a few hours ago.

You might try a piece of exhaust pipe probably 2 1/2 - 3" about a foot long if that. Your local muffler shop will probably give you a small piece of scrap.

Yep...what he said!!! Being a vertical, you don't need much of a stack at all. I'd say a 6" piece would be more than enough. The on'y time you would need it to be a bit longer I would say would be if it was a reverse flow type cooker. And like said, you could probably get a piece that small for free from an exhaust shop.

Thanks guys, if I want it to come out the back then angle up, anything special I need to do, besides have it bent?

Where it will be on the porch, having it go out a couple inches then up will get the smoke off the porch and under the overhanging roof, breeze will take it from there.

You could use something like this from Allied Kenco.

You could also use this with a 90 degree 4" dryer duct and come out the back.

Or have someone make one of these:

Your smoker size is not far off the Bandera.
If I remember correctly, the stack was 4" X 4" or 16 sq in.
It should always be free flowing, so that is a place to start.
Make it bigger and you could choke it down if needed.
Can't make it bigger though :-D

Just a thought.
