I don't have a dehydrator so I was wondering how I can dry out the cobs to use for smoking later.

Thanks!

Buy a bag of corn on the cob for feeding squirrels. Take the corn off the cob, send the corn to your favorite squirrel fanatic and you have cobs you can smoke with.

Are you talking about using them for smoke in BBQ or using them as a smoking pipe? I can't help you with the 1st but I'm sitting here smoking a corn cob pipe as I type this. The corn used in pipes is a special hybrid (actually developed by the University of Missouri) and is used only for pipes. I'm on a number of pipe smoking forums and several people have tried to make their own. The consensus is it's not worth it. They never work as well as the ones you buy. You can get almost any cob pipe for under 6 bucks. The stems suck but there's a place where you can buy a really good stem for $25 dollars that can be used on almost any cob. Sorry if this isn't the info you were after!
