I am having a hard time finding some 1" thick mineral, or rock, wool insulation to purchase locally. All anybody stocks is 3".

I am in the process of building a new insulated cabinet smoker

The first two are rock wool makers you should be able to get a local supplier from one or the other of them email em.

You should check out ant of the ceramic suppliers in your area. as the generally carry or can order the insulation for building of kilns, along with the fire brick.

Try this company and see if they have a location near you. I just picked up 2" thick mineral wool for $34 for 80 sq/ft.
