I finally finished building my BBQ pit trailer...well, 98%. Al that's left now are safety chains and wire nuts. I went with my wife to take some pictures, and she suggested that the pit could double as a crib and playpen if we take our daughter to competitions.

Great cooker! What is it? Did you build it also? Are those fenders a little small for those wheels? Maybe it's the photo but they look a little tight. How did you paint the trailer so professionally? Great job!

I'd put a mesh lockable lid on that cage. Not only will it keep your stuff YOURS while the pit is unattended, but it keeps the little buggers you're babysitting in while you aren't looking.

Thank you for all the compliments on the girl. I keep telling my wife that she's a keeper! Trailer took about 16-24 hours to build and paint, but we broke it up over time. Of course the paint needed time to cure too. The pit is a Lonestar cabinet style. At the time it was built it was a custom, but since then Tom has built one for himself and started to sell them as standard items. It comes as a backyard, so I built the trailer and mounted it. Hindsight prolly should have had it built as a trailer from the beginning. The fenders are a bit small for the wheels. Technically they just barely fit, but I couldn't get the bigger fenders the day I was in the store buying them, I wanted as low a profile as possible, and I figured I could always add shims and mud flaps. Thanks for the compliments on the paint job too! We just masked, used a gun, and didn't rush things. I wish we could throw on a clear coat, but maybe next time, after I repaint the pit itself high temp black gloss.

For those who voiced interest in getting one, especially if you are close, I've talked to the guy who built it with me (I cut, he welded), and we'd definitely be willing to build more. We can even mount your pit on it, and potentially deliver it back to you. If you're seriously interested, just drop me a PM, and we can discuss, but I'll warn you: It won't be a cheap trailer, but potentially the best custom trailer money can buy! Oh, and yes we can do it in blue. Kid option takes nine months for construction, and another 18 years for tuning:)
