Doing a practice run and a busy weekend ended up with starting the fire this early morning at 4:20 a.m. It's 31 degrees and freezing rain. You gotta be kidding me:shock: The drum is covered with ice and now the butt is covered with rub and resting to see how long it takes to get the temp stable on the drum.....I need some coffee.

Sorry about the crappy weather, your drum should work well and produce a nice butt for ya MB.

Now that's devoted! I decided to not cook anything cause it was raining. I think I'm getting lazy, I am laying in a warm bed on the laptop instead. Next weekend should be warmer.

And to think, I have a heated trailer....what's the matter with me?:becky:

Actually brothers, I'm still farking up. Not only did the freezing rain get heavier, the wind decided to kick up to about 25 mph. Finally after about an hour and a half, the ol' faithful drum is settled in. Here's what it looks like now. This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice dedication to the craft!
How long and how hot are you going?
My butts are taking at least 15 hours.

The drum is running about 230 at the center of the grate. Prolly 10 hours or so. I will wrap in foil at about 165ish to speed up the cook since the weather is so nasty. Thanks.
