Anyone have any experience with these guys?

Your favorite Greasy poster has pulled the trigger on a green lump of ceramic goodness!

I was given these guys as a recommendation for the table.

Prices look reasonable and the shipping is cheap, but I always check with my Brethren before I jump too fast!

Please give me thoughts and experiences if anyone has used them.

I don't have any experience with them, other than using their pics as inspiration when modifying the long "official" BGE table I got for Christmas. I made the under-table sliders for storage tubs for mine, except I made it for 2 tubs instead of one. I may eventually do the drop side table.

Good luck!

You may want to try your hand at building your own. Check out the Naked Whiz's web site for EggHeads that built their own tables. If you need measurements for the large table they can be found at the BGE web site or give me a shout and I will give you mine. Here are the tables that I built for my eggs. Both tables have fold down shelves so the large BGE table cover fits.

I have looked at the plans at naked whiz and some other places.

My problem is that we moved a couple of years ago and I don't have access to the tools or woodshop that I used to have so I really don't have the facilities to build it that I once did.

Those are for sure some gorgeous tables though RR!

Thanks on the link for select too Smokinit! I'll check them out.

Hey John! Glad to see you posting here. I guess we haven't crossed paths in what, a couple of years? There are some good hands here, you will feel right at home.

Also, take a look at most pictures of eggs in tables and you will see something missing from those on that website: Firebricks. That egg is going to get HOT, and leaving on that dry wood is a recipe for disaster. As an owner of a large, I know these things get hot. Do a few pizza's or a burn to clean it, and you could have issues. Not saying you will, just that its better to err on the side of caution.

On the Naked Whiz site is a great explanation of this. I only say this because if you actually buy a table and put some firebricks under the egg it will sit way higher in the table.

Enjoy the egg. It is AWESOME>

Building one is not all that hard. I started with zero wood working skills and built this:

Greasepig- those tables look like good bang for the buck. A few things I found in my research is I noticed many tables with a burnt edge on the table top. The other thing I found is I needed a heat proof spot to put my platesetter at times. Make sure you get a weather proof cover from the git go!

Thanks guys! The only concern I have is the heat plate to set the egg on. I looked at the links from naked whiz snosqualmie and i appreciate it!

I considered getting a nest and side tables but that was going to be $250-$280 and with this table being $309 and $35 shipping I just think I'll do this instead.

What thin heat plate should I use that won't crack? I don't want something that will boost the egg up too high.

Ordered mine yesterday, GreasPig. Since the top isn't attached for delivery I'm thinking about taking it by Lowe's for measurment for some type of solid surface top. Any recommendations for a heat resistant solid surface top?

The Egg made it safe and sound. It's sitting on the dining room floor waiting on the table to arrive next week. I did order a Pot Lifter from Fred's Music and BBQ so I can pick it up without breaking my back. You're welcome to borrow the lifter.

let me be the first to say this. First, congrat on the BGE. Secondly...save the money on the table and build a UDS :) [ducking mod]
