Never seen this before but ran saw it today. I love this stuff, problem is the only place that carries it nearby is Albertsons and it's way expensive. It was $14 and change for 40 lbs of lump! Hell, I pay $12 and change for 20 lbs. of B&B lump at my local Academy so this beats that hands down. I picked up a bag today but have not opened it yet so there may be tons of little pieces and foreign material, but hopefully not. I'll report back on my findings as time permits.
p.s.
For those in the El Paso, TX area, I saw this at the Sam's Club on Mesa St.

Do tell! You're a Texas guy, so you might like the Mesquite taste, but I'm a little leary. Let us know if it's noticeable.

I liked it when I used it, pieces are very large.

Understand your hesitation on the Mesquite front as I usually only use Hickory on my stick burner as Mesquite tends to be too strong. I do use Mesquite to cook steaks and burgers 'cause they take minutes as opposed to hours but for long cooks I don't like Mesquite either. Anywho, the Mesquite taste I've experienced from this stuff off their small bag I've purchase from Albertson's is slight and pleasant. But, I will report back on my findings when I actually use this stuff. Later.

bigabyte - sorry, I didn't see your post before I posted my reply. I also own a ProQ Excel and discovered the Minion method last summer. I also use this in my stick burner (Chargiller Duo) to great success, but I did notice on the bag it specifically spells out a warning that this stuff sparks. That's really my only resevation of running it on long cooks Minion style...if it pops like crazy I might not be able to use it...but for $14/bag I would probably use the **** out of it for grilling. Thanks!

With how bad it sparked, I wouldn't use it in my WSM's. The smoke might become an issue too, it smoked a lot while lighting. For grilling though, I really liked it on that first burn. I'm still holding judgement though until using it a lot more, and seeing if the other bags have pieces as big as this one had.

Exactly. I think for the money it might become my grilling wood of choice but if it sparks bad there's no way I could use it in my ProQ Excel which is a WSM clone. Might try cooking something cheap like some $.99\lb. beef ribs just in case the run turns out no muy beuno. Thanks!

I used the same lump on occasion. It is awesome for fish and seafood grilling. I agree on the pieces being large.

Don't know if it's the same brand or not, but Thirdeye has been using a mesquite lump on the last few cooks I've seen him post about. He seems to be getting along with it OK.
