IMHO, It's a tie for Cracklin George and RTD this time. It's the steaks that get me... they'd win a "steak" throwdown on their own I think. I'm gonna hang on for a while and have a think...

I thought so too! I made a pink chiffon number for Scrog to wear for a calendar shoot with these other dishes, but she took one look, gave me a look that'll kill and scampered off. Haven't seen her in ... oh fark, Scrog might be a boy! It's hard to tell with these genetic mutants!

I couldn't make up my mind (as usual) so I asked the missus. She went with Rick's Tropical Delight's and wants the RECIPE!

recipe? for the steak?

- buy a $20/pound 30 day dry-aged ribeye
- set on counter for 2 hours and stare at it
- add a little kosher salt
- cook on big green egg at 500 degrees; 2 minutes, then rotate 90 degrees and 2 minutes more, then flip and 2 minutes more, then rotate 90 degrees and 2 minutes more, then stick with thermometer and pull at your target, this was 129.37  and was on for a total of about ten minutes

the shrimp was skewered with scallions then ev olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and dizzy pig swamp venom marinated for about 1 hour then about 3 minutes on the egg while the steak finished.

********************* NEWS FLASH! *******************

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I hate to interrupt this vote for an important News Flash. It appears that one of the throwdown entrees has broken free and is on the loose. We are currently in a BBQ laboratory interviewing the assistant of the creator of the genetic mutant. We would like to know, what has happened to this creature that you call Scrog?"

I (Gore): I really don't know what all the fuss is about. Scrog and I were playing together just two hours ago. I've never had a pet as wonderful as him, ... or her. C'mon, really, how many pets have you had that you can wrestle with for a couple hours and then actually want to lick your hands clean?

"Wait! This just in from a reporter in Farmersville, Ohio, where some of the local population have sighted a strange six-legged animal that smelled remarkably like steak and shrimp. Resident Bob Smith could only describe it as a 'Stingy thingy' before fainting. Farmersville also is the location of one of the Throwdown contenders, but it appears that meal already had been consumed. Also several locals have noticed unusual behavior in the native rabid raccoon population. [Aside:] Now what the fark is that supposed to mean?

"Another news item has just been posted that there has been a commotion at a local steakhouse on the outskirts of Cincinnati. Officers on duty claim that it appears to have been vacated in a hurry. Some patrons even left their belongings. Officers have retrieved this image from a cell phone, apparently of one of the restaurant's patrons:"

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/Scrog/IMG_4924.jpg

"Hold on, we seem to have some new footage captured by an amateur photographer in the area. Let's see if we can bring it up:"

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/Scrog/scrog.gif

"Yes, I think we can just make that out. Gore, do you recognize what this horrible monster is?"

I (Gore): Uh ... Bigfoot?

"Well, whatever it is, the residents of Cincinnati should lock their doors tonight and whatever they do, they should make sure their steak and seafood are wrapped in an airtight container and stored in a refrigerator!"

Ron, we have not until now had any reason to leash our genetic mutant. I really don't think this is due to some negligence on our part due to 'hitting the moonshine'. Beyond all hope, Scrog has returned! Well, what's left of Scrog anyway. I had thought he ... or she was eaten by Jeorge's lobster, but apparently, like the praying mantis, this lobster was only interested in Scrog's head. Somehow, what was left of Scrog found its way back home. I guess it helps the Scrog's brains are located in its loin.

I warned you it was graphic!

Master thinks Scrog can be patched up with a bit of sausage, probably will be even smarter than before the partial lobotomy. Anyone know the approximate gestation of these genetic mutants? Sorry about your nightmares Rick.

I voted for Cracklin Jeorge. I'd have used crab instead of lobster, but that bone in ribeye looks too good. I just had lunch, and I'm hungry again.

Even though I voted for CJ, I think Gore deserves something for cinematography. Or at least best animated lobsteak.

I have honestly and shamefully not followed the original thread after posting about your masterpiece. I'm a little slow on the draw here, but just realizing the name stuck. I had no clue I could be such a great god-father to scrog 8)

Sorry to see he's missing some peices, but I would assume he's in a better place...

Well, the mystery as to Scrog's sex is now over. If the brain is in the loin, it's just gotta be a HE.

A little Botox and good as new. Or if you got an old pair of Mr potato Head lips hanging around...
