Yesterday I was on the phone to my cousin, as I am pretty
regularly (He is the only living relative, except 1 daughter
that I have left). I continually talk about this group & it’s
members. I think he gets pretty much tired of hearing it,
but is gracious enough to let me ramble on.
You see Cuz made a decision a couple of years ago, after
reading some book having to do with the way live stock
is butchered and processed for consumption in this country.
He became a Vegetarian, borderline Vegan.
He held true to his life style change for 2 years.
I have tried several dishes that he has prepared, all sans
meat, or meat byproducts. Really, very good, but missing
something. Guess what!!
All of a sudden, yesterday when I told him that I was going to
smoke some country ribs for supper, he says I’ll be over in a few
minutes (he lives only about 8 miles away).
Well, let me tell you, he showed up with a package of country ribs,
and chicken wings, and said let’s cook.
Country ribs were done with the 3-2-1 method.
The rub was Southern Flavor (Black), garlic, and onion. At the 2, I put some
Hab Jelly on the ribs. The ribs were excellent, the wings, not my best
but, edible. We ate until we could eat no more, and split the
leftovers.
My quandary is this. Although he obviously enjoyed the feast, I almost
feel like I have converted someone from their religion………
Oh well, gotta go, it’s lunch time & the “leftovers” are almost done.

Just consider it "The Passion of The Pit" (please don't take this wrong!!) and you just converted someone who was misled by the "world"

You need more hab jelly yet?? And, do you prefer the hab or jalapeno??

I love veggies but can't be a vegetarian and vegans are absolutely in a world of their own! Usually nice people, but get real bothered if you "don't understand" them!! :D Go figure.

I read a post by a 3 year vegan -- she was pretty miliant but in the group chat she admitted whe was worried about what to do when the leather coat she had from "pre-vegan" days wore out!! :D

She could always move to vinyl. Then shes not killing a cow, she'll be killing the Ozone layer and toxic run off from the vinyl plant.

Yeah, but even vegans admit that viny, pleather, and other synthetics don't breath like leather.

And, yeah they kill the ozone -- so does cow crap but if we eat enough beef and make enough leather coats we can keep it under control. :D

Yep!!
Could use 3 jars of each. PM me the costs & we're in business!!
This stuff is outstanding on pork. Can't wait to try it on brisket (although
a little modification may be required). Gonna play & see. Hoseradish comes to mind! Hmmmm!!!
