Well... I forgot to pull the 6 lb pork loin out of the fridge until late this morning (11:00 am, when I woke up). it has been sitting at room temp for about 4 hours now and it is still very frozen.

What is a good way to defrost a 6 lb pork loin somewhat fast. I want to get it into the bandera soon so we can eat tonight.

I blame this one on the beer manufacturers! Someone needs to come up with a beer that can stay in the freezer. So that way when I go to get a beer I will see the frozen piece of meat that I need to smoke the following day!

You should ahve started right off the bat by running cold water over it. If I screw up and forget to take stuff out, and I do, I shift my smoking schedule.

Microwave on defrost fro 10-15 minutes, and then run cool water on it.. gonna be at least another hour.

Just put it in water and Cook it tomorrow. :)

Yuppers, running cold water over top your meats, especially the larger cuts will aid in quickly defrosting. It doesn't have to be flowing like Niagara Falls, just an even steady stream will do.
