Did two turkeys over thanksgiving, using 2 different brines. One went on the egg, the other my wife tried a 2 hour, fast cook on. Both turned out great!

Last night, I brined up some chicken legs and pork chops. My youngest (6 years old) barely touched her leg, but gobbled up a baked potato. She asked for another potato, I asked her to finish her leg first. Well, after eating 2 more after that, she no longer wanted a potato. ;)

I know, no pron so it didnt happen.

I believe ya Kylersk. :-D
Your turkeys sound great! I like to brine pork chops too. I put red pepper flakes, garlic and onion in the brine to kick them up a bit.
Glad your little one liked them. :-D

Makes a BIG difference, doesn't it? Turkey, chicken(especially white meat) and pork chops are all great brine meats. Try brining a butt the next time you smoke one.

kylersk, don't sell yourself short - post your pron. Don't worry, we'll be gentle. As long as you're not boiling ribs, or something like that... :)

You will take far more abuse for NOT posting pictures than you ever will get for posting pictures of Que you don't think is good enough.

We brined our turkey this year and it was great. We usually fry our turkey, and wanted to use the UDS this year but with my boy sick I didn't really have time. I brined it using the recipe below, cause I had most of the ingredients only replaced the beer with my own Northern English Brown, and roasted it in th oven.

Still turned out great.

Brining is the way to go.

One of the last times I talked to you, you were looking for a camera that day too, to take a pic of your big Walleye!

This is BigDave2 by the way from the FM forum, in case you didn't figure it out.
