The turducken is on the pit. Here's the breakdown...

Turkey (brined overnight in salt, brown sugar, and Italian dressing)
Basil Pesto
Stuffing with smoked italian bread, garlic, and the holy trinity
Hot italian sausage
Duck par cooked with blackening seasoning
Chicken thighs with sundried tomato pesto.

All bound up like my high school prom date.
cooking at 300 on the BGE with cherry wood.

Thanksgiving was interrupted by a visit to the emergency room. Audrey missed the step going out to the garage at about 1pm. Her foot folded under her from front to back. Worst sprain I've ever seen. She was in major pain.

Still managed to get home in time to get the turkey off, make some potatoes/gravy, and get dinner on the table. We didn't get time to make our stuffed acorn squash or green bean casserole. Maybe for Saturday dinner with leftovers.

Everything was delicious despite the work. The best part was the stuffing with the hot Italian sausage. The spicy is a nice surprise that you don't expect with Thanksgiving. It all worked well together. The stuffing had a ton of flavor.

Note that the new black nitrile gloves are great for turkducken building and B&E, burglary jobs. Excellent for covering finger prints and maintaining a stealth like presence.

At the ER today, I grabbed one of their XL Curad brand powder free gloves. THEY ROCKED!!!! Lambskin soft and great feel, like you weren't wearing gloves at all. They are like the Trojan French Tickler of gloves. I almost lifted 4 boxes.

Masterfully done, Todd. What kind of setup do you use on the Egg? It seems some of the finest turkeys I've seen on here come off of Eggs.

Gotta get me one.

Nothing special: platesetter (foiled), pizza pan (foiled), one of those rib rack/roast rack
