I was stopping at my local Mom and Pop grocery to get a few items and of course could not resist going by the meat section and found to my delight twin packs at sixty nine cents per pound! Unfortunately I only had enough cash on hand for one pack but I plan on going back as the sale is through Tuesday. Looks like I'll be making some room in the freezer!

Anyone in Memphis, it's at Stepherson's on Macon Rd. The same company owns Super Lo too I think and they may have a similar price but I'm not sure.

Nice score!! I've never seen them that cheap around here, at least not at a grocery store.

The label says nothing about any additives or injections, but would it have to?

Yes. 69 cents is a great price! The cheapest that I could buy them 2 weeks ago was .76! That is buying from the packing company. Great score

Most of the time if it is it says it is. Not sure if its required.

Yeah it makes a big difference!

I was at my local Albertsons and they had butts wrapped in styrofoam trays with the "tantalizingly tender" tags on them, so I inquired about the cryopaks and they brought out a case and none of them were marked if they were enhanced or not and none of the "meat handlers" could tell me for sure as they were just slappin' Hormel tags on the paks!

This must the time of year for shoulders and butts. Most all of my local stores have had shoulders on sale for .88-.99 the past three weeks and it seems brethren have been getting them at good prices. At .69 per pound I would be sceptical of the quality ... but then again that's my south side of chicago nature. Enjoy your find.

I did. Went back today. Final tally, 50 pounds of butt (six butts) for $34.55. Also, while rearranging the freezer, I found a 6 lb brisket (Just a flat) I had vacuum sealed about 4 months ago that I forgot about!
